Most people outside of Australia would not have heard of ugg boots until the late 1990's but in Australia the humble ugg boot goes back to the early 1900's.

In the 1918, World War I pilots have been pictured wearing an Ugg-style boot which was called the "fugg boot". Commonly believed that the word "fugg" stands for a flying ugg.
